This tool provides general unit conversions for everyday and educational use. For regulated, legal, or scientific applications, verify conversion factors against the applicable official standard.

About the Pressure Converter

The pressure converter changes values between pascals, kilopascals, bar, PSI and standard atmospheres. It converts through the pascal using exact definitions: 1 bar is 100,000 Pa and 1 atm is 101,325 Pa. Tyre pressure is usually quoted in PSI or bar, weather in kilopascals or millibars, and engineering data in pascals or megapascals.

How to use it

  1. 1Type the value you want to convert.
  2. 2Choose the unit you are converting from and the unit you want (for example PSI to bar).
  3. 3The result updates as you type; use the swap button to reverse the direction.
  4. 4Copy or share the result with the buttons below it.

Worked example

a tyre at 32 PSI is 32 × 6.894757 ≈ 220.6 kPa, or about 2.21 bar. One standard atmosphere is 14.696 PSI.

How it works

How it works

Values are converted through a common base unit for accurate results.
