About the eFG% Calculator
The effective field goal percentage calculator adjusts shooting percentage for the extra point a three-pointer is worth: eFG% = (FG + 0.5 × 3P) ÷ FGA. A player who makes 4 of 10 threes has the same eFG% (60%) as one who makes 6 of 10 twos, because both score 12 points.
How to use it
- 1Enter total field goals made.
- 2Enter three-pointers made.
- 3Enter field-goal attempts and press Calculate.
Worked example
8 field goals, including 3 three-pointers, on 18 attempts give (8 + 1.5) ÷ 18 ≈ 52.8%.
How it works
Formula
eFG% = (FG + 0.5 × 3P) ÷ FGA
Common use cases
