About the Elliptical Calories Calculator

The elliptical calories calculator estimates energy burned on an elliptical trainer using MET values of 4.5 (low), 5.5 (moderate) and 7 (high resistance). Calories = MET × body weight (kg) × hours. Machine displays often overestimate because they assume a standard body weight.

How to use it

  1. 1Enter your weight in kilograms.
  2. 2Enter the workout time.
  3. 3Choose the resistance level and press Calculate.

Worked example

30 minutes at moderate resistance for a 70 kg person burns about 5.5 × 70 × 0.5 ≈ 193 kcal.

How it works

Formula

Calories = MET × Weight (kg) × Duration (hours). Elliptical MET: Low=4.5, Moderate=5.5, High=7.0.

Common use cases

  • Checking gym-machine readings
  • Planning low-impact cardio
  • Logging workouts

Frequently asked questions
